CAE Training

An Introductory Course in FEA

This course will serve as the first step towards a career in Finite Element Analysis. The learner can progress to higher levels of analysis viz. Linear, Non-Linear, Transient, Harmonic in subsequent courses.

Finite Element Analysis with Programming Course

Introductory Course in FEA

Finite Element Analysis with APDL Programming.

For engineering freshers, working professionals, and those preparing for higher education studies in Indian and abroad, this course will give you an essence of Analysis.

The course is multi-faceted, an introduction to FEA theory, covers analysis workflow in APDL and provides an exposure to 'programming.'

The idea is that the engineer can test the FEA waters. If they find the prospect enticing, they can join us in our comprehensive course in CAE.

Introduction

Mechanical Design of components has decisively moved away from Rule and formula-based calculations towards more simulation-oriented Design.

The backbone engine that runs any simulation tool, evolves from Finite Element Analysis.

So far, FEA has been locked in with commercially available software tools like ANSYS, ABAQUS, and NASTRAN.

However, with recent advances in Artificial Intelligence, entire field is moving towards programming and automation.

Hence, Finite Element Analysis is a must have knowledge for a modern-age mechanical engineer.

WHY APDL

APDL: ANSYS Parametric Design Language is a scripting code developed alongside the ANSYS Mechanical Solver.

APDL is a bridge between the world of analysis and Programming.

Using APDL, Engineers can understand intricacies of a Finite Element Analysis execution and get hands-on experience of all programming basics such as ‘user inputs,’ ‘loops and arrays,’ ‘conditionality operations,’ ‘automation,’ etc.

It is as robust as a ‘C’ Language or ‘Python programming can be. APDL is a key that can unlock doors to the future of analysis in mechanical Design

WHo Should ENROLL

Professionals currently working in 3D modeling who wish to explore engineering analysis as a next step in their career.

Civil Engineers currently working on STAAD and other structural design tools and want to upgrade to Finite Element based structural design.

ASME pressure vessel designers currently using ASME Sec VII Div1 and would want to move to Div 2 based ‘Design by analysis’ approach.

This course will be the first step in your analysis and simulation journey.

Recent Mechanical/Civil engineering graduates, who want to get an essence of analysis.

Engineers who eventually intend to script ‘User Programmable Features’ in ANSYS, this course will serve as a window into the world of possibilities.

Learning Outcomes

Comfortably tackle a APDL workflow of generating a model, meshing, solving and post-processing.

Develop an In-depth understanding of 1-D and 2-D analysis in APDL.

Get exposed to preliminary basics of Shell and 3-D analysis.

Completely automate generation of model using loops and user inputs.

Perform a thickness optimization within APDL.

Understand mesh convergence, and efficient ways of handling stress singularities.
